Ordering

How do I place an order of a standard TIDE item (or items)?

To place an order please submit an enquiry or email us with the item or items you are interested in.  We will then send a formal quote.

A 50% deposit is then required to get under way.

Please double check the details on the quote to ensure we have them correct.

How do I know my deposit has been received and my order has commenced?

We will send you an updated Order Confirmation once the deposit has been received.

How long do I have to finalise a fabric choice?

This will vary from order to order but as a rule you’ll have 2 weeks to finalise a fabric selection.

Can I change an order once my deposit has been paid?

This will depend on whether work has commenced.  If not, there may be some scope to amend the order. A surcharge may be applicable.

Can I cancel an order once my deposit has been paid?

In most instances an order cannot be cancelled once the deposit has been paid.

Do you work with trade?

Yes, we work with trade customers.  Please contact TIDE and provide your business details (business name, ABN, contact phone and email) and we will set you up on our system and advise of Trade customer benefits.

What size table is right for my space?

While there is no hard and fast rule for table sizing, we can assist with selecting the right size for your space and requirements. Please contact as via email with some details for assistance.

Do you make extendable tables?

No. All TIDE tables are made in solid timber and the natural expansion and contraction that occurs over the seasons could result in issues with functionality if made as an extension table.

What is the lead time on TIDE furniture?

The lead time varies from piece to piece, and throughout the year.

Generally we try to maintain a 10-12 week lead time for furniture items though.

The lead time for homewares and lighting is typically a bit shorter at 4-6 weeks.

Can TIDE furniture be customised?

Yes, we often customise our range to meet our customers particular requirements.

This can include changes to the size and/or configuration of a piece, or a particualr timber or finish requirement.

Where do you source your timber?

TIDE furniture is only made with timber sourced from sustainably managed forests.

Tasmanian Oak and Blackwood are sourced form Tasmanian and American Oak and Walnut come from the United States.

Are the products you use to make and finish TIDE furniture environmentally friendly?

Yes, we predominantly use water based PVA adhesives to make TIDE furniture and our standard range is finished in natural timber oils and hardwax oils.

Delivery and Freight

Do you ship internationally?

No - at this time TIDE furniture is only available to Australian based customers.

Is insurance included in the freight cost?

TIDE furniture is covered for loss due to fire/theft/rollover/collision during transit.

Accidental damage is not covered.

Melbourne deliveries are handled by TIDE.

Regional Victoria and interstate deliveries are conducted by our trusted transport partners.

Each TIDE piece (regional/interstate) is carefully wrapped and packed for transport.

What if my TIDE furniture arrives with some damage or another issue?

The best way to report this type of incident is via email. If possible please provide an image.

We will then establish the best way to rectify the situation and we'll be in touch accordingly.

Can my furniture be delivered on a specific date and/or time?

TIDE deliveries are conducted according to a pre-determined schedule in order for them to be cost effective.

Either TIDE or our transport partners will be in touch to advise a delivery window.

If you require delivery on a particular day and/or time, this can usually be arranged however there will be an additional cost for this service.

Furniture Care

How do I care for and clean my table top?

Use a lightly dampened soft cloth (a micro fibre cloth is ideal) to remove dust and light stains. Avoid using harsh cleaning products or scrubbing cloths.

For regular cleaning and rejuvenation we recommend Osmo Liquid Spray Cleaner.

Can I place ornaments direct on my TIDE furniture?

Take care when placing or moving unglazed ceramics as they may scratch the surface. We also advise that ornaments are periodically moved to avoid shadows and marks.

Will direct sunlight affect the colour of my furniture?

All the organic materials in your home will be affected by light radiation and the oxidisation of the coating, regardless of the finish.

Direct sunlight will speed up this process so we recommend placing TIDE furniture away from direct sunlight if possible.

Can I place hot cups directly on the table surface?

Whilst not essential, we recommend using placemats and drinks coasters if you are placing cups on the surfaces of your TIDE furniture.

If I spill my wine, will it stain or damage the table surface?

All TIDE table surfaces are coated with a protective 'hardwax oil' that has excellent moisture resistance properties.

While a spill should not cause any issues to your furniture, it is recommended to wipe up the spill in a timely manner.

What steps do you recommend to maintain our TIDE furniture?
